What is a green job?

Green work refers to jobs in agriculture, forestry, horticulture, and related environmental industries. These jobs involve working with land, animals, forests, rural environments, food production, renewable energy, and biodiversity.

Green work may include outdoor and varied tasks, such as growing plants, operating agricultural machinery, managing forests, or developing sustainable technologies. Some occupations are available directly after upper secondary school, while others require vocational, university, or university college studies. There are also opportunities to start a business in the sector.
